IELTS Speaking Part 1: Introduction and Interview

📝 Sample Answer – Band 6-7:
Yes, I eat out quite often, maybe once or twice a week. I usually go with my friends or family on weekends because it’s convenient and we don’t have to cook.
Phân tích:
- Điểm mạnh: Trả lời rõ ràng, có tần suất cụ thể, đưa ra lý do đơn giản
- Hạn chế: Từ vựng cơ bản (quite often, convenient, don’t have to cook), cấu trúc câu đơn giản, thiếu chi tiết về loại nhà hàng hoặc trải nghiệm
📝 Sample Answer – Band 8-9:
Actually, I’m quite a regular at restaurants, probably visiting them two to three times a week. I find that dining out is not only time-saving but also gives me a chance to explore different cuisines and socialize with friends in a more relaxed atmosphere. Plus, it’s a welcome break from home cooking, especially after a hectic week at work.
Phân tích:
- Điểm mạnh: Sử dụng collocation tự nhiên (regular at restaurants, explore different cuisines, welcome break), cấu trúc câu đa dạng với không chỉ… mà còn (not only… but also), nhiều lý do được nêu rõ ràng, thể hiện personality
💡 Key Vocabulary & Expressions:
- a regular at somewhere: người thường xuyên lui tới một nơi

- Giải thích lý do preference
📝 Sample Answer – Band 6-7:
I prefer casual restaurants with good food and reasonable prices. I don’t really like fancy restaurants because they are too expensive. I usually choose places that serve Vietnamese or Asian food.
- Hạn chế: Từ vựng repetitive (good food, reasonable prices là từ quá general), thiếu descriptive language, lý do còn superficial
📝 Sample Answer – Band 8-9:
I’m particularly drawn to cozy, family-run restaurants that offer authentic local cuisine. What I appreciate most is the warm ambiance and personalized service you get in smaller establishments, which you rarely find in chain restaurants. I’m also quite adventurous with food, so I tend to gravitate towards places that serve traditional dishes with a modern twist, especially Vietnamese fusion restaurants.
Phân tích:
- Điểm mạnh: Vocabulary sophisticated (drawn to, cozy, authentic, warm ambiance, personalized service, adventurous with food, modern twist), cấu trúc câu phức tạp với relative clause, thể hiện personal taste rõ ràng với nhiều adjectives mô tả

Phân tích:
- Điểm mạnh: Có opinion rõ ràng, đưa ra comparison, acknowledge cả hai sides
- Hạn chế: Vocabulary basic (healthier, control, more oil and salt), ideas predictable, thiếu specific examples, câu cuối hơi abrupt
📝 Sample Answer – Band 8-9:
Well, I’d say it really depends on where you dine. Generally speaking, home-cooked meals tend to be healthier because you have complete control over the ingredients and can avoid excessive amounts of salt, sugar, or unhealthy fats. That said, there’s been a growing trend of restaurants offering nutritious, well-balanced options, particularly those specializing in organic or farm-to-table cuisine. So while home cooking is usually the healthier choice, you can definitely find health-conscious dining options if you know where to look.

IELTS Speaking Part 2: Long Turn (Cue Card)

I’d like to talk about a meal I had at a Vietnamese restaurant in the city center about two weeks ago. It was called Pho 24, which is quite a popular restaurant chain in Vietnam.
I went there with my best friend because we hadn’t seen each other for a long time. We chose this restaurant because it was convenient and we both like Vietnamese food.
For my main dish, I ordered beef pho, which is a traditional Vietnamese noodle soup. My friend had spring rolls and fried rice. The pho was really good with fresh herbs and tender beef. The portion was big and the price was reasonable.
This meal was memorable for several reasons. First, the food was delicious and authentic. The broth was flavorful and the ingredients were fresh. Second, I really enjoyed spending time with my friend. We talked a lot and caught up on each other’s lives. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, not too noisy, so we could have a good conversation. Also, the service was quick and the staff were friendly. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would definitely go back there again.

Thời lượng: Khoảng 2-2.5 phút
I’d like to tell you about a delightful dining experience I had at a restaurant called The Rustic Table about three weeks ago. It’s a charming little bistro located in the heart of the old quarter, known for its fusion of Vietnamese and French cuisine.
I went there with my colleagues to celebrate our team’s successful project completion. We had been working overtime for weeks, so this was a well-deserved treat. One of my colleagues had raved about this place, so we decided to give it a try.
As for the food, I ordered their signature dish – grilled salmon with lemongrass and herbs, which came with a side of stir-fried vegetables and jasmine rice. The presentation was impeccable – the salmon was beautifully plated with colorful garnishes. The taste was absolutely exquisite. The fish was perfectly cooked, tender and flaky, and the lemongrass gave it a distinctive Vietnamese flavor. My colleagues ordered various dishes including beef steak and seafood pasta, and we shared a bit of everything, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
This meal was particularly memorable for several reasons. First and foremost, the quality of the food was outstanding – every dish was prepared with great attention to detail. The blend of Vietnamese and French cooking techniques created a unique taste that I had never experienced before. Secondly, the ambiance was perfect – the restaurant had warm lighting, rustic wooden furniture, and soft background music that created a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. But what made it truly special was the company and the occasion. Sharing this experience with my team after weeks of hard work made the meal taste even better. We laughed, shared stories, and really bonded over good food. The entire evening felt like a celebration of our hard work and friendship, which is why this meal will always stick in my memory.

📝 Sample Answer – Band 8.5-9
Thời lượng: 2.5-3 phút đầy đủ
I’d like to share with you an absolutely remarkable dining experience I had at a restaurant called La Maison Rouge roughly a month ago. It’s an upscale French-Vietnamese fusion restaurant tucked away in one of the city’s most picturesque neighborhoods, and it has quite a reputation for being one of the culinary gems in town.
I had the pleasure of dining there with my mentor, who’s been instrumental in my professional development. She suggested we meet up to discuss my career path, and knowing her refined taste in food, I wasn’t surprised when she chose this particular establishment. The moment we arrived, I was struck by the restaurant’s sophisticated yet welcoming ambiance – floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a tranquil courtyard garden, minimalist décor with subtle Vietnamese touches, and ambient lighting that created an intimate dining atmosphere.
For my entrée, I opted for their critically acclaimed dish – pan-seared duck breast served with a tamarind-glazed reduction, accompanied by caramelized sweet potato and seasonal vegetables. What made this dish extraordinary wasn’t just the impeccable execution but the harmonious marriage of French cooking techniques with distinctly Vietnamese flavors. The duck was cooked to perfection – succulent on the inside with a beautifully crispy skin – and the tamarind glaze provided a delicate balance of sweet and tangy notes that elevated the entire dish. My mentor ordered the slow-braised beef cheek, and we also shared a deconstructed pho as an appetizer, which was both innovative and respectful of tradition.
This meal has etched itself into my memory for multiple compelling reasons. From a purely gastronomic perspective, it was a masterclass in fusion cuisine – the chef skillfully bridged two culinary traditions without compromising the authenticity of either. Each element on the plate was thoughtfully composed, and you could sense the meticulous attention to detail in every bite. Beyond the food itself, the caliber of service was exceptional – attentive without being intrusive, and the staff demonstrated genuine knowledge and passion about the menu.
However, what truly made this experience transcend the ordinary was the meaningful conversation I had with my mentor. Over the course of the meal, she shared invaluable insights about navigating my career, and the refined setting provided the perfect backdrop for such an intellectually stimulating discussion. There’s something about savoring excellent food that facilitates deeper connections and more thoughtful conversations. The entire experience reminded me that dining isn’t merely about sustenance or satisfying hunger – it’s about creating memories, fostering relationships, and appreciating the artistry that goes into every dish. This meal epitomized all of these elements, which is why it remains vividly imprinted in my mind.

Follow-up Questions (Rounding Off Questions)
Question 1: Would you recommend this restaurant to others?
Band 6-7 Answer:
Yes, definitely. The food is great and the service is good. I think anyone who likes Vietnamese food would enjoy it.
Band 8-9 Answer:
Absolutely, I’d highly recommend it, particularly to those who appreciate innovative cuisine and are open to culinary experimentation. That said, I’d probably suggest it more for special occasions rather than casual dining, given the premium pricing. It’s the kind of place where you’re not just paying for food, but for an entire sensory experience.
Question 2: Do you think you’ll go back there again?
Band 6-7 Answer:
Yes, I would like to go back, maybe for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary. It was a nice experience.
Band 8-9 Answer:
I’d certainly welcome the opportunity to return, though I’d probably reserve it for milestone occasions when I want to make a lasting impression. The experience was so memorable that I wouldn’t want to dilute its significance by going too frequently. Sometimes the rarity of an experience is what makes it truly special, and I’d like to preserve that sense of occasion associated with dining there.
IELTS Speaking Part 3: Two-way Discussion
Sử dụng discourse markers để tổ chức ý như “Well, from my perspective…”, “On the one hand…, on the other hand…”, “It’s worth noting that…”.
Theme 1: Social and Cultural Aspects of Dining Out
Question 1: How has the restaurant culture changed in your country over the past few years?
🎯 Phân tích câu hỏi:
- Dạng: Change over time – yêu cầu so sánh past và present
- Key words: “restaurant culture”, “changed”, “past few years”
- Cách tiếp cận: Identify main trends → Explain causes → Give specific examples → Mention impact
📝 Sample Answer – Band 6-7:
Restaurant culture in my country has changed a lot in recent years. More and more restaurants are opening, especially fast food chains and cafes. Young people like to eat out more than before because it’s convenient and they want to try different types of food. Also, social media has made restaurants more popular because people like to post photos of their food online. Traditional restaurants are still there, but modern restaurants are becoming more common.
Well, I’d say the restaurant landscape in Vietnam has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past decade. Perhaps the most striking change is the proliferation of international cuisines – we now have everything from authentic Japanese ramen bars to Mexican taquerias, which was virtually unheard of ten years ago. This diversification reflects our society’s growing cosmopolitanism and increased exposure to global food culture.
Another significant shift has been the rise of dining as a social experience rather than merely a functional activity. Millennials and Gen Z, in particular, view restaurants as venues for social connection and self-expression. This is evidenced by the Instagram-worthy aesthetic that many establishments now consciously cultivate – meticulously designed interiors, artfully presented dishes, and photogenic ambiance.
What’s also interesting is how technology has revolutionized the dining experience. Food delivery apps like Grab and Shopee Food have surged in popularity, especially post-pandemic, making restaurant food more accessible than ever. Simultaneously, we’re seeing a counter-trend of farm-to-table restaurants and establishments emphasizing sustainable practices, which suggests that consumers are becoming more conscientious about food provenance and environmental impact. These concurrent trends – convenience-driven and values-driven dining – reflect the complexity of modern consumer behavior.

Question 2: Why do you think some people prefer eating at home rather than going to restaurants?
- Key words: “prefer”, “eating at home”, “rather than”
- Cách tiếp cận: Identify multiple reasons → Explain each → Consider different demographics → Acknowledge both perspectives
📝 Sample Answer – Band 6-7:
Some people prefer eating at home because it’s cheaper than going to restaurants. They can save money by cooking themselves. Also, home-cooked food is usually healthier because you know what ingredients you use. Some people also feel more comfortable at home, especially families with young children. It’s more relaxing and private than eating in public places.
There are multiple factors that drive people’s preference for home dining, and these often vary depending on individual circumstances. From a financial standpoint, cooking at home is undeniably more economical, particularly for families or those on a tight budget. When you factor in the cost of dining out regularly – not just the food but also service charges and transportation – the cumulative expenses can be quite substantial.
Beyond economics, there’s the health dimension. People who are health-conscious or have specific dietary requirements often find it easier to maintain control over their nutrition when preparing meals themselves. They can regulate portion sizes, avoid excessive sodium and unhealthy additives, and ensure the freshness of ingredients – something that’s harder to guarantee in restaurants. This is particularly relevant in an era where lifestyle diseases like diabetes and hypertension are increasingly prevalent.
Then there’s the emotional and cultural aspect. For many, especially in Asian cultures, home cooking carries sentimental value – it’s associated with family bonding, tradition, and comfort. The act of preparing and sharing meals at home fosters intimacy and connection in ways that restaurant dining, despite its conveniences, simply cannot replicate. Additionally, some individuals are simply introverted by nature and find the privacy and tranquility of home dining more appealing than the bustling atmosphere of restaurants.
That said, it’s worth noting that these preferences aren’t mutually exclusive – most people strike a balance between the two, reserving restaurant visits for special occasions while relying on home cooking for everyday meals.
Phân tích:
- Structure: Exemplary organization với clear categorization (financial → health → emotional/cultural → balanced conclusion). Each point fully developed với explanation và examples.
- Vocabulary: Sophisticated và precise: “drive people’s preference”, “cumulative expenses”, “regulate portion sizes”, “lifestyle diseases”, “fosters intimacy”, “mutually exclusive”, “strike a balance”. Natural collocations throughout.
- Grammar: Outstanding range: complex conditionals, relative clauses, participial phrases (“particularly for families”), cleft sentences for emphasis, parallel structures
- Critical Thinking: Shows depth với consideration của multiple demographics, acknowledges complexity với “aren’t mutually exclusive”, demonstrates cultural awareness, provides nuanced conclusion
💡 Key Language Features:
- Discourse markers: From a financial standpoint / Beyond economics / Then there’s / Additionally / That said / It’s worth noting
- Tentative language: often vary / can be / simply cannot
- Hedging: particularly relevant / especially in Asian cultures
- Academic expressions: factor in / cumulative expenses / increasingly prevalent / mutually exclusive
Theme 2: Food Industry and Business Trends
Question 1: Do you think food delivery services are affecting traditional restaurants?
- Key words: “food delivery services”, “affecting”, “traditional restaurants”
- Cách tiếp cận: Acknowledge the impact → Explain how (positive and negative) → Give examples → Consider future implications
📝 Sample Answer – Band 6-7:
Yes, I think food delivery services have a big impact on traditional restaurants. Many restaurants now offer delivery through apps like Grab or Baemin. This helps them reach more customers, especially during the pandemic when people couldn’t go out. However, some small restaurants might struggle because they have to pay fees to these delivery platforms. Overall, delivery services are changing how restaurants do business.
Phân tích:
- Structure: Has both positive and negative points, nhưng analysis còn surface-level
Absolutely, food delivery platforms have fundamentally reshaped the restaurant landscape, and the impact is quite multifaceted. On one hand, they’ve been a lifeline for many establishments, particularly during the pandemic. Restaurants that swiftly adapted to delivery models were able to maintain revenue streams when dine-in options were severely restricted. Emerging data suggests that delivery services have actually expanded the customer base for many restaurants, reaching people who might not have otherwise visited their physical locations due to distance or time constraints.
However, the relationship is far from symbiotic. Traditional restaurants, especially smaller, independent establishments, face significant challenges. The commission fees charged by delivery platforms – typically ranging from 20-30% – can severely erode profit margins, which are already notoriously thin in the food industry. This financial pressure forces some restaurants to either raise menu prices for delivery orders or absorb the costs themselves, neither of which is sustainable long-term.
What’s more concerning is how these platforms are shifting consumer behavior and expectations. There’s a growing tendency among younger consumers to default to delivery rather than dining in, which undermines the traditional restaurant experience – the ambiance, service, and social aspects that many establishments built their reputation on. Some restaurateurs argue that food delivery commoditizes their offerings, reducing carefully crafted dishes to items in an app, stripped of the context and experience they were designed for.

Question 2: What makes a restaurant successful in today’s competitive market?
🎯 Phân tích câu hỏi:
- Dạng: Factors/Qualities – identify và explain success factors
- Key words: “makes successful”, “competitive market”, “today’s”
- Cách tiếp cận: Identify key factors → Explain importance của each → Provide examples → Consider how factors interact
📝 Sample Answer – Band 6-7:
To be successful, a restaurant needs good food first of all. The taste and quality must be consistent. Second, good service is important because customers want to feel welcome and comfortable. The location also matters – if it’s in a busy area, more people will come. Nowadays, restaurants also need to have a social media presence and good reviews online. Finally, reasonable prices help attract more customers.
Phân tích:
- Structure: Lists several factors logically, nhưng each point lacks depth
In today’s fiercely competitive culinary landscape, success hinges on a delicate balance of multiple factors, and I’d argue it’s becoming increasingly complex. First and foremost, exceptional food quality remains non-negotiable, but it’s no longer sufficient. The food needs to be not just delicious but distinctive – restaurants must carve out a unique niche or culinary identity that sets them apart from countless competitors. Whether it’s mastery of a specific cuisine, innovative fusion concepts, or unwavering commitment to sustainability, successful restaurants have a clear value proposition.
However, equally crucial is the overall dining experience. This encompasses everything from the ambiance and interior design to the caliber of service and even the storytelling around the food. Diners today, particularly millennials and Gen Z, are seeking experiences, not just meals – they want Instagram-worthy moments, engaging narratives about ingredients, and memorable interactions with staff. Restaurants like The Rustic Table that I mentioned earlier succeed partly because they’ve mastered this experiential dimension.
The digital presence aspect cannot be overstated. In an era where most diners turn to Google reviews and social media before choosing where to eat, online reputation management is critical. Successful restaurants actively engage with their digital audience, respond to reviews (both positive and negative), and leverage social media not just for marketing but for building a community around their brand. They understand that every diner is a potential brand ambassador – or critic.
Then there’s operational excellence – the behind-the-scenes efficiency that customers might not directly see but certainly experience. This includes effective inventory management, staff training and retention, and adaptability to changing circumstances, as we saw during the pandemic when successful restaurants pivoted quickly to delivery and takeaway models.
Finally, I’d say financial acumen is essential yet often overlooked. Restaurants operate on notoriously slim margins, so success requires careful cost control without compromising quality, strategic pricing, and diversified revenue streams – perhaps offering catering, retail products, or cooking classes alongside regular dining services.
What really distinguishes thriving restaurants is how these elements synergize. It’s not about excelling in just one area but orchestrating all these factors into a cohesive, sustainable business model that can weather market fluctuations and evolving consumer preferences.
Conclusion synthesizes how factors work together.

Theme 3: Health and Social Implications
Question 1: Is the trend of eating out more frequently good or bad for society?
🎯 Phân tích câu hỏi:
- Dạng: Evaluation – assess pros and cons, give balanced view
- Key words: “trend”, “eating out more frequently”, “good or bad”, “society”
- Cách tiếp cận: Acknowledge complexity → Discuss benefits → Discuss drawbacks → Provide balanced conclusion
📝 Sample Answer – Band 6-7:
I think eating out more has both good and bad effects. On the positive side, it’s convenient for busy people and it creates jobs in the restaurant industry. It also lets people try different types of food. However, eating out too much can be unhealthy because restaurant food often has more oil and salt than home cooking. It’s also more expensive, so it might not be good for people’s finances. I think it’s okay if people eat out sometimes but not too often.
Phân tích:
- Structure: Shows balanced view với both sides, nhưng analysis lacks depth
This is quite a nuanced question because the implications are multifaceted and vary depending on how we define “frequently” and which segment of society we’re examining. From an economic standpoint, the trend certainly has tangible benefits. The burgeoning restaurant industry creates substantial employment – from chefs and servers to delivery drivers and suppliers – contributing significantly to GDP and providing livelihood opportunities, particularly for those without advanced education. It also stimulates related sectors like agriculture, food manufacturing, and logistics, creating a ripple effect throughout the economy.
On a social and cultural level, eating out more frequently fosters social connections and cultural exchange. Restaurants serve as communal spaces where people forge relationships, celebrate occasions, and experience diverse culinary traditions. This exposure to different cuisines can broaden perspectives and promote cultural understanding – something particularly valuable in increasingly multicultural societies.
However, we cannot ignore the concerning implications for public health. Epidemiological studies have established strong correlations between frequent restaurant dining and elevated rates of obesity, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic disorders. Restaurant meals typically contain significantly higher levels of calories, sodium, saturated fats, and added sugars compared to home-cooked alternatives. As this trend intensifies, we’re seeing troubling spikes in lifestyle diseases, placing immense strain on healthcare systems and diminishing quality of life for affected individuals.
There’s also the environmental dimension that’s often overlooked. The restaurant industry has a substantial carbon footprint – from food waste (which is considerably higher in commercial establishments) to single-use packaging for takeaway orders and the energy consumption required for commercial kitchens. From a sustainability perspective, this trend is decidedly problematic.
Moreover, there are socioeconomic equity concerns. While affluent urbanites may enjoy the convenience and variety that frequent dining out offers, this lifestyle is financially unattainable for many families, potentially exacerbating social inequalities and creating a two-tiered food system where access to convenient, quality food becomes a privilege rather than a norm.
In weighing these factors, I’d argue the trend is neither inherently good nor bad – it’s about striking the right balance and ensuring that as a society, we’re making informed choices. We need regulatory frameworks that ensure restaurants provide transparent nutritional information, incentives for sustainable practices, and initiatives that make healthy dining options accessible across socioeconomic strata. The goal should be enjoying the benefits of a vibrant dining culture while mitigating the health and environmental costs through conscious consumption and responsible business practices.
Phân tích:
- Structure: Exceptionally comprehensive với systematic analysis: economic benefits → social benefits → health concerns → environmental issues → equity concerns → nuanced conclusion. Each dimension thoroughly explored.
- Vocabulary: Sophisticated và precise: “nuanced question”, “multifaceted”, “tangible benefits”, “burgeoning industry”, “ripple effect”, “epidemiological studies”, “metabolic disorders”, “carbon footprint”, “socioeconomic equity”, “two-tiered system”, “regulatory frameworks”, “mitigating costs”. Academic và policy-oriented language.
- Grammar: Full command với complex structures: conditionals, relative clauses, participial phrases, passive constructions, cleft sentences, parallel structures throughout
- Critical Thinking: Outstanding analysis với consideration của multiple dimensions (economic, social, health, environmental, equity), evidence-based reasoning (“Epidemiological studies”), acknowledgment của complexity, policy implications, balanced conclusion that avoids simplistic judgments
💡 Key Language Features:

- Tentative language: I’d argue / can broaden / potentially exacerbating
- Academic expressions: vary depending on / contributing significantly to / cannot ignore / epidemiological studies / from a sustainability perspective

Question 2: How do you think restaurants will change in the future?
🎯 Phân tích câu hỏi:
- Dạng: Prediction/Future trends – speculate về future developments
- Key words: “how”, “restaurants”, “change”, “future”
- Cách tiếp cận: Identify current trends → Extrapolate future developments → Explain driving forces → Consider implications
📝 Sample Answer – Band 6-7:
I think restaurants will use more technology in the future. Maybe we will order food using tablets or robots will serve food. Delivery will probably become even more popular. Restaurants might also focus more on healthy food because people are becoming more health-conscious. There could be more vegetarian and vegan options too. Overall, I think restaurants will be more modern and convenient.
Phân tích:
- Structure: Presents several predictions nhưng lacks supporting reasoning
- Vocabulary: Basic với “use more technology”, “become more popular”, “health-conscious” – functional nhưng limited
- Tại sao Band 6-7: Makes reasonable predictions nhưng without depth, lacks explanation của why these changes will occur, vocabulary range limited, ideas somewhat vague
📝 Câu trả lời mẫu – Band 8-9:
Based on current trajectories and emerging technologies, I envision several significant transformations in the restaurant industry over the coming decades. Perhaps most prominently, we’ll see accelerated automation and AI integration. We’re already witnessing the early stages with self-ordering kiosks and robotic servers in some establishments, but I believe this will evolve dramatically. Advanced AI systems could personalize menu recommendations based on dietary preferences, health data, and even mood analysis, while autonomous robots handle everything from cooking to delivery, drastically reducing labor costs and enhancing efficiency.
The dining experience itself will likely become increasingly immersive and experiential. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more restaurants incorporating augmented or virtual reality to enhance storytelling around dishes – imagine virtually visiting the farm where your ingredients were sourced while dining, or experiencing a multi-sensory journey that complements each course. This aligns with the growing consumer desire for meaningful experiences rather than just meals.
Sustainability will transition from a niche concern to an industry imperative. Given the mounting pressure from climate change and heightened environmental awareness, future restaurants will need to demonstrate credible sustainability credentials – think zero-waste kitchens, hyper-local sourcing, plant-based menus becoming mainstream, and perhaps even lab-grown meat as it becomes commercially viable. Restaurants that fail to adapt to these sustainability expectations may find themselves struggling to attract the next generation of consumers.
We’ll also likely see further blurring of boundaries between different dining formats. The distinction between restaurants, grocery stores, and meal kit services might fade as establishments diversify their offerings to capture multiple revenue streams. Ghost kitchens – facilities solely dedicated to delivery with no dine-in option – will probably proliferate, optimizing for the growing delivery market without the overhead of physical dining spaces.
From a culinary perspective, I anticipate continued globalization and fusion, but with a simultaneous counter-movement towards hyper-regional, heritage cuisines. There’ll be growing appreciation for culinary traditions at risk of disappearing, possibly supported by government initiatives and UNESCO recognition programs.
However, what fascinates me most is how restaurants might evolve as social spaces. In an era of increasing digital interaction, physical restaurants could become even more valuable as authentic spaces for human connection. We might see restaurants intentionally designing technology-free zones or experiences that emphasize face-to-face interaction, positioning themselves as antidotes to our increasingly virtual lives.
Of course, these predictions come with caveats – unforeseen technological breakthroughs, economic disruptions, or shifts in cultural values could dramatically alter these trajectories. But based on current trends, I believe we’re heading towards a restaurant landscape that’s simultaneously more technological and more intentionally human, more globally connected yet more locally rooted – a fascinating paradox that reflects the complexities of modern society.
Phân tích:
- Structure: Outstanding organization với multiple dimensions của future change: technology → experience → sustainability → business models → culinary trends → social aspects → acknowledgment of uncertainty. Each prediction well-supported với current evidence và logical extrapolation.
- Vocabulary: Exceptional sophistication với “accelerated automation”, “immersive and experiential”, “hyper-local sourcing”, “commercially viable”, “proliferate”, “counter-movement”, “hyper-regional”, “unforeseen breakthroughs”, “fascinating paradox”. Future-oriented và technology-specific terminology.
- Grammar: Full flexibility với future forms (will, might, could), conditionals, complex noun phrases, relative clauses, participle phrases, passive voice for formal academic tone
- Critical Thinking: Exceptional depth với evidence-based predictions, consideration của multiple forces driving change, acknowledgment của paradoxes và complexity, recognition của uncertainty, synthesis của technological và human factors, forward-thinking yet grounded in reality
💡 Key Language Features:
- Prediction language: I envision / we’ll see / will likely become / I wouldn’t be surprised / I anticipate / we might see / I believe we’re heading towards
- Discourse markers: Perhaps most prominently / The dining experience itself / From a culinary perspective / However, what fascinates me most / Of course
- Tentative language: could dramatically alter / may find themselves struggling / probably proliferate

Cấu trúc ghi chú đơn giản: Where – Rustic Table/old quarter, Who – colleagues/celebration, What – salmon/lemongrass, Why – quality/ambiance/bonding. Điều này giúp bạn nhớ structure mà vẫn nói tự nhiên.
Sử dụng filler phrases tự nhiên: Thay vì “um”, “uh”, hãy dùng các discourse markers như “Well”, “Let me think”, “That’s an interesting question”.
Ví dụ: “Yes, I think sustainability is crucial (D). This is because consumers are increasingly concerned about environmental impact (A). For instance, many restaurants now advertise their zero-waste policies (R). Looking ahead, this trend will likely intensify as younger generations prioritize ethical consumption (E).”
Ví dụ: “The restaurant’s cuisine manifested exceptional palatability” nghe cứng nhắc hơn “The food tasted absolutely amazing”. Hãy chọn sophisticated words that sound natural in spoken English.
Thiếu cụ thể trong miêu tả: Thay vì “The food was good”, hãy specific: “The salmon was perfectly cooked – tender and flaky on the inside with a beautifully crispy skin”. Descriptive details demonstrate vocabulary range và make your answer memorable.
Nếu được hỏi “Why do people prefer eating out?”, đừng chỉ kể về personal experience. Phân tích general reasons affecting society: convenience for busy professionals, social aspects, variety of options.
Tips từ Examiner
Showing personality: Examiners đánh giá cao candidates có authentic personality. Đừng ngại thể hiện enthusiasm, humor (when appropriate), hoặc personal opinions. Một câu như “I have to admit, I’m a complete foodie and could talk about restaurants all day!” khiến bạn memorable hơn.
Handling difficult questions: Nếu không biết answer cho một Part 3 question, hãy honest: “That’s quite a complex question. While I haven’t thought deeply about this before, I’d say…” rồi speculate reasonably.
Demonstrating critical thinking: Trong Part 3, thay vì đưa ra absolute statements, show nuance: “While it’s true that…, we also need to consider…”, “The situation varies depending on…”, “There are both advantages and drawbacks…”. Điều này thể hiện sophisticated thinking.
