Grammatical Structures Ấn Tượng
1. Conditional Sentences (Câu điều kiện):
Mixed conditional:
- Formula: If + past perfect, would + verb / If + past simple, would + have + past participle
- Ví dụ: “If I hadn’t attended that cultural festival, I wouldn’t appreciate traditional arts as much as I do now.”
Inversion (đảo ngữ trong câu điều kiện – rất ấn tượng):
- Formula: Had/Were/Should + subject + verb
- Ví dụ: “Had I known about the traditional ceremony, I would have attended it.”
- Ví dụ: “Were governments to invest more in cultural preservation, we wouldn’t lose so many traditions.”
2. Relative Clauses (Mệnh đề quan hệ):
Non-defining relative clauses (thêm thông tin):
- Formula: …, which/who/where + verb, …
- Ví dụ: “The water puppet show, which originated in the Red River Delta, is a uniquely Vietnamese art form.”
- Ví dụ: “My grandmother, who is 85 years old, still remembers all the traditional songs from her childhood.”
Reduced relative clauses:
- Ví dụ: “Traditional festivals celebrating agricultural cycles connect people to their heritage.” (từ: festivals which celebrate…)
3. Passive Voice (Câu bị động – academic tone):
It is thought/believed/said that…:
- Ví dụ: “It is widely believed that cultural diversity strengthens social cohesion.”
- Ví dụ: “It has been argued that globalization threatens local traditions.”
Modal passives:
- Ví dụ: “Traditional knowledge should be preserved for future generations.”
- Ví dụ: “Cultural heritage sites must be protected from over-tourism.”
4. Cleft Sentences (Câu chẻ – nhấn mạnh):
What… is/was…:
- Formula: What + subject + verb + is/was + noun/adjective

The thing/reason that…:
- Ví dụ: “The thing that makes this festival special is the participation of all generations.”

5. Participle Clauses (Rút gọn mệnh đề):
Present participle (showing simultaneous actions):

Past participle (passive meaning):

After suggest/recommend/insist/demand that…:

7. Inversion for Emphasis:
Negative adverbials at the beginning:

8. Advanced Cause-Effect Structures:
So… that / Such… that:

Owing to / Due to / On account of:

- Idiomatic expressions sử dụng chính xác
